YOUR Support Makes a REAL Difference In REAL People’s Lives

In 2022 alone, you helped us divert almost 300,000 pounds from our local landfill and connect materials useful to creative students, teachers, artists, hobbyists, sustainability enthusiasts, and others in our community who need them. Your support has been instrumental in providing opportunities to more local reuse artists through our Green Gallery and Marketplace. We were also able to expand our education offerings and community outreach programs, serving many students in under-invested schools.

Your gifts help us keep materials out of the landfill and get them back to people who need in them in 4 ways:

1:Education

Turnip Green Creative Reuse hosts recurring after-school programs in many different MNPS schools. In these programs, students learn about the importance and enjoyment of reuse through creating take-home art projects, science experiments, school installations, and more.

2:Creative Reuse CENTER

This is the heartbeat of our organization and offers shoppers a plethora of supplies and materials for art making, classroom learning, gardening, home improvement projects, sustainable workspaces, and more! We offer these materials with a pay-what-you-can business model to better meet the needs of EVERYONE in our community.

3:Green Gallery and Marketplace

The Green Gallery and Marketplace features hundreds of local and regional reuse artists working with a wide array of reuse materials. With rotating monthly gallery exhibitions and featured artists in the marketplace, there’s always something new to see, and the constantly evolving inventory of accessories, fine art, home goods and decor, jewelry and other functional art created from reuse supplies make great gifts!

4:Open Studio

The Open Studio is where our community comes together to learn new art-making skills and techniques with our robust schedule of classes and workshops. Additionally, this space is free for small groups or individuals during our open hours with an appointment. If you are interested in hosting a private art workshop, birthday party, or other event, contact our Community Engagement Coordinator.
