Weaving Your Heritage

  • Nashville Public Library Thompson Lane Branch 380 Thompson Lane Nashville, TN, 37211 United States (map)

Fabric surrounds us: we wear it, we use it to keep warm, we sit on it, we decorate our homes with it. In Guatemala, artists create beautiful fabrics based on their Mayan heritage to describe people’s lives. In this workshop, we will look at Guatemalan fabric. Then we will create our own weaved fabric to describe our lives, using yarn, string, and fabric strips.
