Plastic bags are everywhere you look and difficult to recycle. What if you could turn them into something useful? Learn how to transform plastic bags into plastic yarn (“plarn”) and how to weave or crochet it into durable household items. We will also discuss the impact of single use plastic bags on the environment and why some cities and states have banned them. Beginners and kids are welcome!
Please bring five (or more!) plastic grocery bags. All other materials will be provided to use during the workshop, but if you prefer to bring your own crochet hooks, size J (6mm) or a little larger is appropriate for this project. Come and learn how to make and work with plarn!
$10 for adults, $5 for kids
