Please join us Saturday, February 10th, 2018 from 7-10pm for Shadow Play: Abstract Photography. This exhibition features photography created by Western Kentucky University Department of Art student artists. The artists photographed the light and shadows created by arranging and creatively lighting translucent colored plastic films, plastic samples, and glass samples obtained from Turnip Green, capturing beautiful, abstract forms. The photographic paper and frames have been upcycled. These photographs are stunning.
Shadow Play features artists: Cortney Ballard, Devan Aislynn Barnes, Travis Cox, Erika Denning, Shayna Dheel, Sydney Dewart, Hannah Duckett, Alyssa Guidugli, Kaylynne Jones, Timothy Keen, MacKenzie Kristufek, Leo Fengyan Liu, Lillie Neitner, Maddie Pierce, and Yang Xiao.
We invite you to join us at the opening in our Green Gallery on Saturday, February 10th in conjunction with the East Side Stumble from 7pm–10pm. Join us for a night full of celebrating the wonders of abstraction in photography, complimentary refreshments, and create an upcycled, reuse Valentine in our studio area. Participants will work with beautiful bits of paper, glitter, and fabric to create abstract expressions of love for their Valentine(s). This take home project is free of charge and suitable for all ages and skill levels.
Make sure to stop by and say hi to our neighbors at Platetone Printmaking to enjoy more art and another complimentary workshop!
If you are unable to attend on Saturday, you are invited to view the show until March 8th during our hours of operation or by appointment.
