Reuse Revival: A Friends and Family Show

It takes an especially generous village to divert nearly 160 tons of materials from the landfill and get them back into the hands of thousands of local students, teachers and artists; we are grateful for our incredible team that makes this possible! Please join us for the opening reception of Reuse revival: A friends and family show, in conjuction with the East Side Stumble, to honor over 20 Turnip Green artists who continuously contribute their time and talents to support, live, and spread Turnip Green Creative Reuse’s mission of fostering creativity and sustainability through reuse.

On Saturday, August 12, from 7pm to 10pm, you are invited to celebrate sustainability with the staff, board, “Opportunity Now” Interns, teaching artists and supporters of Turnip Green Creative Reuse in their upcoming collaborative showcase. A variety of styles, techniques and reused materials will be on display in the Green Gallery from August 12 to September 8.

The following reuse artists will have pieces on display:
Naomi Assefa, Branesha Bell, Michelle Bukowski, Ryan Bukowski, Kayla Burnett, Jamie Compton, Iris Engel, Davonte Grimes, Amelie Guthrie, Shamira Jones, Dee Kimbrell, Megan Little, Isaiah Matthews, Harriet McSurdy, Trinity Miller, Grace Philips, Graci Phillips-Wilson, Beth Reitmeyer, Leah Renae, Justin Sherry, Shantaurus Tart, Marla Thalheimer, Kelly Tipler, Elisha Webster and Jake Wells

In the spirit of community and the 14th Annual Tomato Art Fest, attendees will be invited to participate in complimentary individual and collaborative reuse activities facilitated by Turnip Green Goddess Rachel Crumpler. Participants will be provided with sustainable materials to create tomato-inspired jewelry and to contribute to a large-scale tomato artwork that will be on display in Turnip Green’s Artist Marketplace.

We look forward to seeing you in the Green Gallery Saturday, August 12, from 7pm to 10pm for the opening reception, refreshments and complimentary reuse workshop!
